Riot Roundup: Cool Local Shit Going On This Week 9/7 – 9/13

“When I get mad… and I get pissed…”

Riot Roundup is a weekly feature detailing fun upcoming events in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Have an event that you want mentioned in a future column? Drop us an email and let us know!

Monday 9/7

It’s Labor Day, so uh… go have a kid or something. That’s what that means, right?

Tuesday 9/8

As far back as I could remember I always wanted to see Goodfellas at the Troc, at a special Movie Tueday event, presumably due to the holiday. As always $3 gets you in and goes towards a snack or drink, and the event is 21 and over. Check out their site for more info. Now go home and get your fuckin’ shine box!

Wednesday 9/9

Recently reactivated New Orleans doom sludge legends Eyehategod return to the area at Underground Arts, with direct support from Philly noise punk favorites Fight Amp, celebrating the release of their new 7”. Click here for more info and tickets.

Thursday 9/10

Silicon Valley funnyman Kumail Nanjiani hits the stage at the Troc on Thursday night. This is an all ages event at the doors open at 7PM. Click here for more info and tickets.

Friday 9/11

LA Riot Grrl legends L7 bring their gloriously reunited heavy grunge attack to the Troc on Friday with support from local feminist punks The Pretty Greens. Click here for more info and tickets.

Saturday 9/12

Oregon thrashers Toxic Holocaust descend upon Voltage Lounge, supported by fellow Portlanders Lord Dying, who we dug the hell out of opening for Battlecross and Crowbar a few months back. Click here for more info and tickets.

Sunday 9/13

UK doomsters Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats make the Sabbath as black as possible, their psychedelic cult engulfing Union Transfer with Ruby the Hatchet and Ecstatic Vision. Click here for more info and tickets.
