Riot Radio – Lana Del Rey – Honeymoon

"There are roses in between my thighs and fire that surrounds you."

Indie Pop troublemaker Lana Del Rey returns this year with Honeymoon, the first track revealed from her third LP of the same name due later this month. We’ll always miss Del Rey’s detached “gangsta” persona and hip hop influences exhibited on her debut, 2012’s Born to Die, but even though we felt the same way about 2014’s Ultraviolence, of which Honeymoon takes a very similar tack, that wound up one of our favorite records of the year. Lana describes the upcoming album’s tracks as having “a muddy trap energy and some inspired by late-night Miles Davis drives”, which is highly evident from the laid back, jazzy vibe portrayed here, with a nihilistic pinch of old Hollywood glam gone wrong for good measure.

Lana Del Rey’s Honeymoon comes out 9/18/15 on UMG Recordings.
