Riot Radar – Upcoming Releases 11/20 – 11/27

“Black cloud gaining…”

More pop culture recommendations than you can shake a cold leftover drumstick at, it’s Riot Radar, a weekly column detailing new releases in music, movies, games and (sometimes) TV for the upcoming week. Perfect for all your holiday shopping and time killing needs.

On TV

This Sunday (11/22) at 8pm, join WWE for their annual November PPV Survivor Series, celebrating 25 years of The Undertaker, with sadly no mention of the Gobbledy Gooker, and currently available for binge watching on Neftlix, Breaking Bad alum Krysten Ritter infiltrates the seedy urban underbelly of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jessica Jones. If it’s half as good as Daredevil, it’ll still be pretty good.

Games

Holiday overindulgence have you feeling the need to punish yourself? FROM Software has you covered on PS4 with Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, the first DLC expansion for their beautifully violent but torturously difficult Dark Souls successor.

Blu Ray

Jesse Eisenberg gets his Zombieland-style loveable slacker back on in American Ultra as a stoner convenience store clerk who discovers he’s been secretly programmed as a Jason Bourne-esque killing machine.

Music

For the blackest of black Fridays, I heard somewhere that the new Danzig covers record Skeletons is pretty good, and hardcore heroes Converge unleash the massive CD/DVD/Blu Ray package of live material (some of which from right here in Philly’s good ol’ Union Transfer), Thousands Of Miles Between Us. Look for our full review soon!

In Theaters

Though it kind of came out of nowhere, you probably can’t go wrong with Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, and we have to give a shout out to Rocky follow up Creed since it was practically filmed in our own back yard. Our pick of the week though? Hilarious comedian and fellow geek and metal nerd Brain Posehn’s Christmas based family raunch comedy Uncle Nick.
